Plaza Canada is a relatively short climb of about 4 hours from base camp. If you are feeling well, it should give you a boost of confidence. The climb is steep though and the camp area is relatively small.

Plaza Canada is a quite a change from Base Camp. A well-supported expedition that is used to having a cooking tent and dinner tent will be instead having the guide prepare meals from his sleeping tent. Meals will be eaten in sleeping tents or outside if weather permits. Water has to be melted from snow. There are no outhouses, and the hiker will have a first experience with the unpleasant task of relieving one's self into a plastic bag, with the privacy of only the largest boulder one can find. The stress of altitude also rapidly reduces one's concern for privacy in favor of proximity and least effort.
