The Karate Punch - 2

Below we have two renowned Japanese karateka. Tanaka (left) is a multiple time world champion JKA competitor in both kata and kumite. Kanazawa (right) is three time JKA world champion in kata and kumite and one of the most famous shotokan practioners. Here Tanaka is performing Jion, and Kanazawa is performing Unsu.

Here we see that they are doing... exactly the same thing. Is the practice wrong, or is the shotokan orthodoxy wrong?
